Black Bluff View Retreat – a large comfortable 4 bedroom house on 40 hectares.
“Our stay at Black Bluff View Retreat was the highlight of our five week trip to some of the most beautiful and scenic places in Tasmania. The host “Basil” greeted us at the start of our stay and gave us a tour of the house and provided us with many helpful tips about the area. The house itself was very spacious and comfortable with every possible amenity. There was a great fireplace that kept the whole house warm. Every window had an amazing view of the mountains and forest and we enjoyed being able to see the Milky Way whilst in bed. The beds were very comfortable. The garden was well cared for and surrounded by beautiful trees. This was a luxurious stay in an enviable part of the world 30 min from Leven Canyon walking tracks, 15 mins from wineries, beaches, berry, cherry farms, and wildlife park and about an hour away from Cradle Mountain. This really was a place that had everything. It truly exceeded our expectations and was a great place to end our trip. We hope to come back and stay here again one day soon so we can tackle some of the multi-day treks in the area.” Rebecca, January 2021.

“We had a truly wonderful time staying at Black Bluff View Retreat recently. It is a great house, with enough space for the extended family and full of all the mod cons that you could possible want. However its real appeal is the setting – amazing views from the bedrooms and both the inside and the outside entertaining areas out over the valleys of bush right on your doorstop, and the kids loved the chance to explore and spot the local wildlife. However, it is Paul (Basil) that makes this spot so rewarding. He is full of local knowledge and invaluable tips on things to do and spaces to go and is always willing to share his love for and passion of this part of Tasmania. We have had a great time exploring the area – several walks in the Leven Canyon, trips along the coast as far as Stanley, a memorable walk over to explore Goat Island, Cradle Mountain and Sheffield. It was also wonderful to see Strahan and Sarah Island. We have loved the tranquility and wildlife here. The children will be so sorry to miss Prairie Dod (and her children!). Pure serenity and exceptional views, you will never want to leave. Quality linens, towels, and super comfy beds and pillows. The home is just perfect, every comfort is there for you in abundance, plus more, like the awesome surround sound on the TV system. The most luxurious carpet and grass you will probably ever experience. So much bird watching and birdsong, the wrens are a joy to watch. “Such a beautiful property – we loved it. We had the best time here. Black Bluff View Retreat is so well equipped and is such a convenient place to use as a base for all the attractions in the area. Everything was really amazing but we most enjoyed Cradle Mountain, Dip falls and Leven Canyon. We had lots of walks around the property and saw the resident echidnas. We would love to come and stay again in the future. This is a five+ star property with room for more that our group of six. Five great bedrooms, all with spectacular views, two and a half bathrooms and three toilets. “My friends and I could not have been happier with our stay at this property. We were blown away as soon as we entered. Paul had the house very well stocked with all that you could possibly need. There were so many nice touches so we didn’t feel we were missing any essentials. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to make a good meal and the house was very clean and tidy. We were a group of six adults who all appreciate their own space and this house was perfect. Very spacious and plenty of rooms to choose from. Paul was lovely and so helpful with suggestions on what to do around the area so do not hesitate to ask him questions. Paul was an amazing host, really helpful, plenty of local tips, short cuts and walks to check out. The location is magical, plenty of wildlife in the block in this secluded location. House was perfect for our large group, we had a few oldies so some flexibility between up stairs and down stairs was really helpful.
